Good morning good morning!
So I promised you guys yet another novel with the anticipated release of early spring. It's in the beginning stages at this point but I feel confident enough to give you a tiny little teaser and the anticipated title!!! Exciting right! I'm really looking forward to this release because this will be my first attempt at having a unhappily ever after ending. Not saying it will stay that way but I want to try something new. Something cliff hangery lol. So here ya go :) A little teaser of the upcoming novel :Stranded.
~Nicole looked up into the black clouds. They were turning over, rolling in angry waves like the crashing ocean. Lightning lit up the black sky and wind whipped her hair around angrily. It was like the start of one of the tornado's she and Luke would experience back in Oklahoma. The thunder crashed causing her to jerk and stumble back on the sand. The wind was howling loudly nearly deafening anything else. She spun in a frantic circle. Where had Luke, Josh, Miranda and Ben gone? they were all together just moments ago when the boat collided into the sand and now she was sprawled out and alone with a dull ache in her wrist. She tested it, moving it this way and that and decided it was only sprained. Probably from the impact of being thrown from the boat. "Luke!" she called out hoarsely. Being twins she would know if something was wrong with him right? She hoped so. She more than hoped...she prayed. "Nicole!" A voice screamed out over the wind and her relief was nearly immediate. At least she knew Josh was okay but as he came into view she wasn't sure how okay that really was. His leg was leaving a steady drag mark in the wet sand and his light brown hair was matted down with blood. His face was covered in already forming purple blotches and one of his hazel eyes was nearly swollen shut. It looked like he had taken the brunt of the impact but being that she had no idea where the remainder of her friends were, including her brother she couldn't say for sure.
Josh dropped next to her, panting heavily. "Have you seen any one else?" He asked wincing and grabbing his side. "She shook her head and helped him sit. "No, and it looks like its going to storm. We need to find shelter." As if on cue the wind picked up and a loud crash of thunder clapped overhead. Josh looked up and studied the storm before nodding and struggling to his feet. He reached out for her and even in the circumstances her stomach did a flip flop. "Come on. The boats no good, I just looked. We need to move into the trees." Nicole nodded and helped him limp into the dark canopy of trees.
Before long neither could move any further and they slumped against the rough bark of the tree. Tears sprang in her eyes as she thought of Quinn and their mother waiting for her and Luke to return. She thought of Josh's little brother Conner who would no doubt be plastered to the living room window waiting on stories of the open sea. Miranda's dad who just dealt with the death of his wife. She thought of Ben's parents and of his older sister Kelly returning from Paris. While she was on the beach nothing was in sight. The only land they were on was this one and it was more like a nightmare. "Nikki, it'll be okay." Josh whispered and she tried to nod. The darkness enveloped them and they grasped hands tightly. There wasn't even a moon to shed the tiniest bit of light around them. "Just pray it doesn't rain." Josh whispered. All they could do was wait out the dark and hoped to survive until the sun rose. ~
